Warning in advance: the beginning of this story is pretty nasty. Specifically, yes, it does involve rape, graphically described. But things improve CONSIDERABLY towards the middle and go slightly Mortal Kombat towards the end. Oh, yeah, and spoiler warning if you haven't reached the end of Zelda 64, although I have taken a liberty or two with the game's storyline. ----------------------------------------------------------- Dance with the Devil _Ganondorf._ Ganondorf played the huge pipe organ in the room at the top of the central tower, filling the air with ominous notes to greet the Hero of Time once he arrived. And Link //would// arrive, he knew; he was aware of the boy's fighting skills. He played, and he waited until he sensed the presence of the Triforce of Courage, which had merged with Link just as the Triforce of Power had merged with him. Wisdom -- the third Triforce -- belonged to Princess Zelda. She was imprisoned in a magical crystal hovering high above. The Triforce mark on the back of Ganondorf's hand gave off a soft golden glow. He smiled. //Just as I thought.// He turned and faced the Hero of Time, fully prepared to slay him right then and take the Triforce piece he carried. But as his gaze crawled over the young man's well-formed body, Ganondorf wondered if there might be another use for him. "It all ends here," Link said as he entered the chamber with the Master Sword in hand. Ganondorf laughed heartily. "Still amusing as ever," he remarked, "but I don't have time for this game. There is... another game that I'd much rather play with you." He walked towards his wary opponent. "It must have been confusing for you, Link, entering the Temple of Time as a child and leaving as such a handsome young man. Do you know how desirable you are now?" He caught it. Confusion and just a trace of fear flickered briefly in Link's deep-blue eyes. Ganondorf played on that fear, leering as his gaze settled on Link's crotch. Link was clearly unprepared for this kind of battle. "W... what are you talking about?" he asked, taking a step back. Ganondorf made an elaborate gesture. Waves of purple energy knocked Link flat against the wall behind him, making him drop the Master Sword. As Link was recovering, Ganondorf rushed at him, seized him by the wrists and threw him to the ground, pinning Link there under his considerable (and very solid) weight. Then he forced his lips against Link's, almost drawing blood. "Let go of me!" Link gasped when Ganondorf broke off the kiss, thrashing ineffectually as Ganondorf held him down. "By the Goddesses, let go of me!" Ganondorf's blood grew hotter with every passing moment. It was quite a power rush, seeing the Hero of Time so helpless and feeling that strong, young body of his trapped beneath his own. "But you have so much to learn," Ganondorf told him and reached under Link's tunic. "Has anyone ever touched you here, Link?" Certain that the answer was no. Link shouted in frustration, still trying to get away. "Go to Hell!" Ganondorf punched Link in the stomach and tore the clothes from Link's body -- his tunic, his shirt, his boots, his hose -- as well as taking Link's shield, bow and arrows, which he threw across the room. The young man screamed and squirmed and shouted, "You can't do this to me!" Afterward, Ganondorf bruised Link's lips with another brutal kiss. Were those //tears// Ganondorf saw in Link's eyes? He saw the humilation, too, and the glowing embers of a useless, burning rage. "Tell me," Ganondorf said, savoring Link's unspoken emotions, "do you even know what this is called?" fondling Link's dick as he spoke. His other hand was around Link's throat, threatening to crush his windpipe if he made the wrong move. "Let me go," Link seethed, "//now.//" Ganondorf said simply, "Answer me or lose it, boy." Link looked away. "...My penis." "And these?" He grabbed Link's balls, stroking the sac with his thumb. "...My balls," Link answered, blushing. "What are you getting at?!" Ganondorf responded, "You know more than I thought you would. But I doubt that you know everything I'm going to teach you." Link made another valiant effort to push Ganondorf off of him, but it was useless. "I don't want this," Link pleaded. "Not like this. Not from you." His tone was different now, quieter and almost meek; the fire in his eyes had dimmed, giving way to cold fear. Ganondorf feigned sympathy and caressed Link's smooth cheek. "Too bad," he said, "that you don't have a choice." He removed his codpiece. "Stop," Link begged again as Ganondorf turned him roughly onto his stomach, "St-- AAAUUUGH!!" Link threw his head back, spine arched so far it looked like he might snap in two, and produced the sweetest sound that Ganondorf had ever heard: the desperate, strangled cry of a shattered soul, torn from the throat of the Hero of Time. Ganondorf had rammed himself deep inside Link in a single, savage thrust, his massive hands around the young man's waist as unescapable as iron bands. He laughed as Link tried to run from the agony which had ripped that scream from him, thrusting again and again, each assault as merciless as the one before it, over and over, as Link sobbed, "By the Goddesses, stop...!" And he //did// stop -- after he came. Then Ganondorf withdrew, grinning as he thought of his seed left inside Link's body. Ganondorf watched with cool eyes as Link curled up on his side. Moaning. Sobbing. Raw and bleeding. Gently, Ganondorf touched Link's hair and kissed him on the forehead. "Don't cry," he said, his tone almost affectionate. "That wasn't your last lesson, and I think you'll like this one." He closed his fingers around Link's manhood again. "Don't...." "Shh. Doesn't that feel good? You're getting hard already." Ganondorf stroked Link until he came, watching as the young man's body convulsed in response to his touch. Wondering whether Link's soft groans were from pleasure or from pain, but not caring which. And then... Link passed out. Ganondorf backhanded him across the face, leaving a smear of Link's own semen there, but he didn't respond. //Too bad,// Ganondorf thought. //I wasn't finished with him yet.// He looked up at Princess Zelda, who was trapped within her crystal prison high above. Zelda couldn't move or speak, but Ganondorf knew that she saw and heard everything in this room. He laughed and asked, "Did you like that, Princess, watching me fuck your ‘Chosen One'? Well, don't worry; it won't be the last time." Hyrule was already his. Why shouldn't he enjoy Link's body for a few days more before taking the Triforce from him? Once fully dressed again, Ganondorf carried Link to the dungeon, tossed him in a cell and locked the door. "Let me know when he wakes up," he instructed one of the skeleton guards. "I have... plans for him." The Stalfos nodded his understanding. * * * _Sheik._ Something had gone terribly wrong. The nineteen-year-old Sheikah could sense it as he paced the living room of his new house in his home village of Kasuto. Over the last two days, his sixth sense had gone from occasionally whispering to constantly shouting that Link and Zelda were in danger. //They've been captured,// Sheik thought grimly. //I'm sure of it. I should have gone instead of the Princess, regardless of what she thought of me -- or what I thought of myself.// Sheik was in love with Link, the beautiful boy who had been chosen by the Master Sword. He had loved Link ever since he first saw there him in the Temple of Time. "You really do look like the Hero of Time," Sheik had said to Link that day, but never told him exactly why. Never told him how magnificent he was with the Master Sword in hand, an aura of strength and justice about him tangible as sunlight's warmth. Never told Link how he longed to take him in his arms and hold him, kiss him, worship him. Only Sheik's mother (who was aware that Sheik sometimes "liked" men) knew how he felt about Link. Or at least she was the only one until Zelda figured out his secret. Sheik winced when he recalled what Zelda had said to him then and, more than that, the look of disgust in her eyes. Seven years ago, Sheik's Aunt Impa and the Princess had come to Kasuto to hide from Ganondorf and his minions. They stayed with Sheik and his mother Gaea, Impa's sister, and assumed new identities. This worked out pretty well; Kasuto was a tiny Sheikah village hidden in the forest on the northeast side of Death Mountain, and it was unlikely that Ganondorf even knew of its existence. Then Zelda pointed out that they couldn't hide forever. "I'll have to contact Link if and when he emerges from the Sacred Realm," Zelda had said with a frown. "He needs to learn to use the Ocarina's powers, and about the legends." "But what if Ganondorf captures you?" Impa asked, worried. "It's just too risky." "I could go," Sheik suggested. "I know all the legends, and I could teach Link the songs with my harp." He laughed and added, "Besides, nobody can catch me." So it was decided that Sheik would be Zelda's messanger. This, too, worked out well enough -- until Zelda realized that her messanger's interest in Link went deeper than she wanted it to. "I think it might be best," Zelda had told Sheik coldly, "if I go instead of you from now on." Her expression seemed to add, "I have to protect Link from your perversion." "But Ganondorf might catch you," Sheik protested, "and if he does--" "I can use my power as the Seventh Sage to assume your appearance and voice. No one will know who I am." Sheik didn't argue with her. In fact, a part of him thought she was right, imagining how horrified that Link -- the legendary Hero of Time -- would be if he had the slightest idea.... But now, as his sixth sense twisted tight knots in his stomach, Sheik wished he hadn't been so passive in spite of this risk. //I have to save them.// Sheik went to his room and changed into his battle gear: a close-fitting blue-and-white uniform with the emblem of the Sheikah embroidered in red on the chest, a white scarf to cover his face, a white turban wrapped around his head to keep his shaggy yellow-blond mane from getting too far out of control in case he had to fight. Then, armed only with a dagger and a few deku nuts, he used his people's secret technique to transport himself instantly to the gates of Ganon's Castle. * * * _Link._ Link knelt shivering and naked on the cold stone floor of his cell, doubled over in pain and silently cursing himself for ever having gotten into this mess. He had been held captive here for not quite two days; Ganondorf had just finished raping him for at least the fourth time. Link had fought, screamed and begged every time he was violated, save this one. He knew how much that Ganondorf enjoyed it when he struggled. Seeing how helpless the Hero of Time was against his strength. Even if Link's body was no longer his own, he could still cling to one shred of his pride by denying Ganondorf the ultimate source of his pleasure. Hopefully, he would soon tire of his "favorite toy." Then, as he promised after each rape, he would finally slit Link's throat and free him from this living death. //The Hero of Time,// Link thought bitterly. //The Sages' Chosen One. The hopeless failure, Ganondorf's whore.// If only he hadn't been so unnerved by Ganondorf's initial advances. If only he hadn't lost his grip on the Master Sword when Ganondorf attacked. If only he'd.... Link closed his eyes, but couldn't fight his tears. Hyrule's only hope, and he couldn't even save himself. Suddenly, Link heard a commotion outside. It sounded like... fighting? Link looked up and turned his head to peer around the corner. There, he saw a familiar face -- or at least a familiar figure. Someone in a Sheikah's garb armed only with a dagger was toppling the Stalfos Knights as though they were a child's toys. //Zelda?// This person //did// look like her in disguise, but Link still couldn't imagine the Princess fighting like //that.// "I'll have you out in a sec," the person said, lifting a set of keys from one of the defeated skeleton fighters. "Zelda?" Link asked, squinting. Link's rescuer pulled down his mask to reveal a young man's face. "It's me. Sheik." Link's heart skipped a beat. //He really exists.// Sheik unlocked Link's cell and, visibly shaken, knelt before Link and held his hands. "By the Goddesses," he whispered, "what happened to you?" His ruby-colored eyes were soft, caring and compassionate. Link looked away, unable to answer him. Sheik didn't press the issue. Instead, he undid his mask and gave the cloth to Link to cover himself with. Link took it gratefully. Sheik told Link, "Let's get you out of here." * * * _Sheik._ As soon as he and Link were back at his house, Sheik showed Link to his room ("No, Link, you can sleep here; I insist. I'll just take the floor.") and offered Link some of his own clothing to wear, a short-sleeved black and green jumpsuit. Link thanked him, but said nothing more. //Please don't let it be that,// Sheik thought, looking heavenward as he stood outside the door and waited for Link to get dressed. //Please, anything but that....// "Link," Sheik asked quietly, "are you done?" "...Yes," came Link's answer. "Can I come in?" "...Go ahead." Sheik opened the door. Link was sitting on Sheik's bed and staring out the window. Sheik sat down next to him. "Um, Link, I--" "He knocked the Master Sword right out of my hand," Link said dully, still staring forward, "and he pinned me to the ground. It was only a few yards away, but I couldn't reach it." Link paused and blinked several times; Sheik knew his composure was starting to break. "Couldn't do a thing about it when he put his hands on me, couldn't do a damned thing when... he...." Link buried his face in his hands, trembling. Sheik's heart sank into the pit of his stomach, sitting there like cold, liquid lead. "Link... he...?" Link nodded quickly, not looking up. Sheik closed his eyes. His worst fears had been confirmed. He thought of the times he himself had secretly envisioned kissing this young man, caressing him, loving him, worshipping him, and was nearly overcome with shame. Those visions seemed tainted and ugly now. Sheik knew it wasn't the same, but still.... "I'm so sorry," he said weakly, wanting to hold Link and comfort him, but too afraid of himself to move. Then Link leaned against his shoulder, giving him no choice. //I love you, Link,// Sheik thought as silent tears rolled down his cheeks and soaked into Link's hair. //If I could give my life or even take your place to keep you from having to suffer like this, I'd do it in an instant. And you'll never know it, Hero of Time. I love you too much to risk losing your trust.// Sheik couldn't undo what had happened to Link. But he would do his best not to make things worse. Sheik let Link stay with him while Link recovered from his ordeal. Sheik had intended to find Zelda, too, but Link informed him that the Princess was being held inside some sort of strange crystal at the top of the the central tower. "Ganondorf's power," Link explained. "I saw him create the crystal in the Temple of Time." So even if Sheik found her, he wouldn't be able to free her. Only the Hero of Time -- the young man chosen to wield the Master Sword -- was capable of that. The same young man who woke up screaming in the middle of the night, sobbing uncontrollably as he begged and unseen enemy, "Stop!" For five nights in a row, Sheik woke up to hold Link as he would a frightened child. "Sh... should've... been able to stop him," Link stammered, "should've been...." "No," Sheik insisted, "it wasn't your fault! Please, stop blaming yourself for what he did to you." And as soon as Link was finally able to fall asleep again, Sheik returned to his place beside the bed, careful never to say or do anything that was even remotely improper. Although... as he looked down at Link's boyishly handsome face, so innocent in sleep... Sheik was sorely tempted to kiss him. Not a lover's kiss, not really, but.... No. That was out of the question. Sheik quickly pushed the thought out of his mind, put out the lamp and lay down on the floor. Then, one afternoon a few days after the nightmares ended, Link laughed. Sheik was looking for his comb at the time, and the sound of Link's soft chuckle made him forget what he was doing. He hadn't seen Link smile since freeing him from Ganondorf's dungeon and this, of all things, was a very pleasant shock. Sheik turned around and asked, "What is it?" "You," Link replied, still smiling a little. "You look really different out of uniform -- and you still haven't told me why Zelda was dressed as you." Sheik laughed, too, and pulled out the chair in the corner of his room, straddling it. "It started seven years ago," he began, "when my Aunt Impa came here with the Princess to hide from Ganondorf. They stayed with my mother and me, disguised as normal villagers...." He related the story as Link listened intently, finishing with, "...but after the Water Temple, Zelda wished to speak to you herself. And the rest, you know." Unfortunately, Link asked, "Why did Zelda change her mind //then//?" Sheik was silent for awhile. //I can't tell him *that*,// he thought, remembering that day. He remembered standing behind a tree and watching as the Hero of Time, soaked to the bone after having spent a day in the underwater temple, climbed onto the shore of Lake Hylia to change out of his Zora Tunic and back into his normal attire. Sheik hadn't meant to look; he knew Link thought he was alone. But he was just so beautiful with the water running over his bare skin, droplets catching the light of the setting sun like tiny diamonds as they dripped from his hair, down his back, over his chest, accentuating every line, curve and crevice of his firm young body. Sheik did turn away after a time, ashamed of himself for invading Link's privacy. But he couldn't forget what he had just seen. Even now, Sheik's heart began to race when he thought of that day; he wondered how he had ever managed to relay Zelda's message to Link after seeing him in his full glory. Even now, a blush crept into his cheeks when Sheik remembered what he had done as soon as he was alone in his room, craving Link as a starving man craves food... and the way that Zelda looked at him when they saw each other again. She had heard. She must have heard.... "I, um, guess she missed you," Sheik faltered. "She... didn't really give a reason." "Hmm." * * * _Link._ Link was aware of Sheik's feelings for him. He had suspected it ever since their first meeting in the Temple of Time. There was something in his words and the way Sheik looked at him that always seemed a little strange -- but not altogether unpleasant. Once or twice, Link had imagined the face behind the mask, picturing a handsome young man who secretly dreamed of loving him. Link realized back then, to his own surprise, that he wanted Sheik just as much as Sheik wanted him. He had almost told Sheik this at Lake Hylia, but Sheik had disappeared before Link gathered his nerve. When Zelda revealed to Link that she had appeared to him in disguise, Link assumed it had been her all along. He then dismissed his feelings for the elusive Sheikah as his having somehow known.... But after finding out that this person really existed -- that it really //was// him up to their meeting at the lake -- Link knew for certain now that he was attracted to the young man named Sheik and not to a princess in a Sheikah's uniform. //What a time for this to happen,// Link thought, looking away from him. He had finally seen Sheik's face. He had seen the smooth, softly golden skin, the delicate cheekbones, the rather impish dimpled grin; he had looked into those rich, ruby-colored eyes which seemed to tell a thousand stories and admired the becoming way in which Sheik's yellow-blond mane framed his lovely face and settled about his shoulders once freed from that turban. Link had seen that Sheik was every bit as appealing as he imagined he'd be. But now, the thought of touching him or being touched by him made Link slightly queasy. Ganondorf had poisoned his desire. "Link?" Sheik asked, "Are you alright?" "Huh?" Link returned to reality. "Yeah, I just drifted off for a second." He looked at Sheik again. "Sheik," he said, "I'd like to thank you." It was time to let his friend stop torturing himself. "What for?" "For understanding. For never asking me why I don't just go back to the castle and complete my mission. For never making me tell you... everything.... And for trying to protect me even at the expense of your own emotions." Sheik opened and closed his mouth a few times as if searching for words which refused to appear, his eyes round with panic. "I... I don't know what you're--" "I know you're attracted to me," Link went on. "You don't have to deny it anymore." Sheik blushed pure crimson. "I'm sorry," he said. "I never meant for you to... I mean, I...." He twisted his hands in his hair. "Damn," he cursed under his breath. Link reached out and placed a hand on Sheik's shoulder, trying to calm him down. "It's alright," he assured him. "I've had the same feelings for you practically since the day we met." * * * _Sheik._ Sheik just sat there for awhile, utterly dumbfounded. "You... //what?//" Link nodded, smiling sadly. "I wanted to tell you at Lake Hylia, but you left before I could." Sheik shook his head in disbelief. So much wasted time. So much wasted worry. So many opportunites missed.... Why couldn't he have seen this before? Or perhaps he //had//, but dismissed it immediately as the product of his own wishes. "Right about now," he said,"I really wish I'd stayed." Awkward silence. "Link," Sheik began cautiously, "what would you think if I wanted to kiss you? Right now? After what you've suffered...." His voice trailed off as he saw tears well up in Link's sapphire eyes. "Oh, I'm so sorry," he whispered, turning pale, and knelt beside the bed to take Link's hands. "Link, I--" "It's not that," Link said quietly. "It's the fact that you'd ask me first, even for just a kiss." A glimmer of hope. "It's... it's alright, then?" Link nodded. "Yes." //Oh, thank the Goddesses!// Sheik stood and, not wanting to appear too aggressive, didn't let go of Link's hands. He looked into Link's eyes for a moment, giving him a chance to change his mind. Link didn't say a word -- verbally or otherwise. //One. Two. Three.// Sheik touched his lips to Link's, gentle as the brush of a butterfly's wing. To Sheik's surprise, it was Link who deepened the kiss, pressing his lips more firmly against the Sheikah's and holding it for quite some time. Sheik was more than happy to return the favor. Timidly at first, but emboldened when he met no resistance, he wrapped his arms around Link's waist. Let their bodies meet. "That... wasn't bad," Link said, mostly to himself. He seemed surprised. Sheik laughed. "Thanks, I think." Link grinned sheepishly. "That isn't what I meant." His smile faded. "Ganondorf kissed me, too, but it was nothing like this." Sheik considered his next words carefully before saying them aloud. He told Link, "I feel a little funny about this, too, because I don't want to frighten you. But I know there //is// a vast difference between an act of love and an act of violence, and the last thing I would ever want to do is hurt you." Link brushed aside a section of Sheik's long, tousled hair. "I know." Sheik kissed Link again, this time easing onto his back as he did. Link didn't say anything, but Sheik still knew he was uncomfortable. "I'll stop now if you'd like," Sheik offered. "No," Link told him, "I'm alright." Sheik started to undo Link's belt and watched Link's expression as he did. He could see the struggle there as Link tried to separate what Ganondorf had done to him from the gift that Sheik intended to give him and asked, "Are you sure sure you want this?" "Yes," Link insisted. "I've wanted this since Lake Hylia." Sheik was silent for a time. Then, he stood up and began to disrobe. "Sheik...." "If you do want this," Sheik said, "I'll do everything in my power to make it easier for you. And it might be easier if, first, I offer myself to you." When he stood naked before Link, he approached him, took his hands again and said, "Do anything you wish to me. I'm yours to explore." Link started to reach out, but stopped, shook his head and said, "I can't." His hand fell back to his side. "I'm sorry." "Maybe I can help you find your courage." Sheik held Link's left hand and placed it on his bare chest, guiding it downward, over his stomach, and finally between his legs. Link looked at him, questioning. "Yes," Sheik said, "there, too," and sighed with delight as Link began to stroke him. Getting harder with every touch. "Please, Link, can I undress you now?" Link told him, "Alright." Sheik began to undress Link, long-restrained desire making his hands tremble. It felt like he had dreamed of this forever. And maybe he had, but just never knew it. As a Sheikah, he knew all the legends well: the Sages, the temples, the Master Sword. And now, the Hero of Time -- the one foretold in prophecy -- was here and warm and real and gloriously nude, letting Sheik kiss his stomach and thighs. Granting him permission to go further with a lovely sigh. Sheik eased Link onto his back again and suckled Link's right nipple lightly, enjoying the taste of his skin. "Feels good," Link murmured, drawing his knees up a little. "I'm glad." Sheik caressed Link's thigh as he turned his attention to the left nipple. Blinking in surprise when Link wrapped his legs around him. "Am I your prisoner now?" he joked, his lips a breath away from Link's ear now. "If so, I can't imagine being captive in more welcome bonds." Link grinned, but didn't speak. Sheik kissed him on the neck, sliding his hands behind Link's back to hold him closer still. Flesh to flesh. Warmth to warmth. Once more, Sheik restrained himself; he wanted Link so much that he could scream, and his body ached with longing. But he had to show gentleness now. Or else, he knew he would destroy the fragile trust between them. "There's something I would like to do for you," he said, toying with a strand of Link's hair. Then, slowly, he reached down, grazed Link's penis with his fingertips, and studied Link's reaction. Link tensed up at first, but then, in time, he did relax. "Alright," was Link's answer. Sheik knelt in front of Link and gradually took Link's shaft into his mouth. Link moaned softly in response as Sheik began to suck, stroking it with his tongue as he did, almost pulling back completely for awhile to swirl the tip of his tongue around the head of Link's erection, then taking it all again. Link whispered, "By the Goddesses... don't stop...." //I don't intend to,// Sheik thought, eager to serve him. He continued sucking until Link came, thanking the Goddesses that he could give him this kind of pleasure; Sheik gladly swallowed every drop of Link's semen as it was offered to him in potent spurts, finding it more sumptuous than the finest wine. Sheik asked, "You like?" after Link was through. Link gave a happy, but exhausted sigh and collapsed on the bed. "Immensely." Sheik glanced down at his own erection, gathered his nerve and asked, "Could you do the same to me? I... wouldn't expect you to swallow." Link sat up and helped Sheik to his feet. Then he took Sheik in his arms, kissing him, and this time lowered //him// onto the mattress. Sheik felt a little light-headed. As he looked up at Link, he saw a desire which burned as hot as his own. The Hero of Time //did// want him //that way//... and now, Link's warm, moist lips were wrapped around his member, sucking, teasing, pleasuring him. Sheik let out an exquisite moan. //Is this really happening?// He turned his head to one side and closed his eyes, his breaths becoming rapid gasps as sensation conquered him. "Oh... Link...." Sheik groaned when climax finally shattered him, breaking him into a thousand dream-shards. How could this be real? How could it be that beautiful Link, the legendary Hero of Time, had given this to him just because he asked? Sheik realized that he was crying as the last waves of pleasure subsided. When he looked up, he saw that Link was, too. "My way of repaying you," Link said, "for what you've restored to me." And he //had// swallowed, a gesture which touched Sheik deeply. "Link," Sheik asked softly, "could you grant me one more favor? It's something I've never asked of anyone -- or ever received before. And... there's no one in Hyrule I'd rather do this with." "Do you mean...?" "Mm-hmm." Link was silent for a long time. "But I might hurt you," he said, finally. Sheik gave him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry about it. As I said, I'm yours." Link caressed Sheik's cheek with the back of his hand and told him, "If you want me to, I will." Sheik received his wish. Some time later, Sheik was lying at Link's side, staring at the ceiling. They had just uncoupled. He was still a little dazed. "How do you feel?" Link asked. He was drawing lazy, meandering paths over Sheik's stomach and chest with his index finger. "Never better," Sheik replied in a far-off voice. It //had// hurt -- a lot -- in spite of Link's intended gentleness. But Sheik never once let on. He didn't want Link to feel guilty over this, especially after what he had been through, and... just having Link inside of him was worth any temporary pain. Sheik had never given himself to anyone that way before. Now, he belonged to the Hero of Time. The beautiful boy he had fallen in love with the instant he saw him in the Temple.... Link half-smiled and informed Sheik, "You don't have to sleep on the floor anymore." Sheik laughed. "I'm glad. It was killing my back." * * * _Link._ Link knew he had to complete his mission. Zelda was still Ganondorf's prisoner, and all of Hyrule still lived in fear. He had been staying with Sheik for almost two weeks now (and sharing his bed for the last few nights), and he felt that it was time to face the enemy. Time to face his fears. "You have that look in your eyes again, Link," Sheik observed, watching Link watch himself in the mirror. "What look?" Link asked. Sheik slipped his arms around Link's waist from behind. "The look of a warrior," he replied. "Noble. Determined. Courageous. And very appealing, I might add." Sheik kissed Link on the neck. "I think that look is what first made me fall in love with you." Link chuckled. "Flattery will get you everywhere." "You're going after him now, aren't you?" Link nodded. "I have to. It's my destiny." "But if you're going into battle, you'll need to be properly armed." Sheik left, and then Link heard him rummaging through the living room closet for a minute or so. He returned with a lopsided grin and the Master Sword. "I think this should come in handy." He gave the sword to Link. Link gasped, examining it. Yes, this was the legendary blade. "How did you...?" "I retrieved it for you a few days ago. Since the legends say that evil hands can't touch it, I figured it would still be in the room at the top of the central tower. And to answer your next question, yes, Zelda is safe -- aside from the fact that she's still trapped in crystal." Link frowned. "But I'll need my bow and arrows, too, and Ganondorf took them." Sheik responded easily, "We can get new ones at the market -- and a new shield, too. Don't forget: this village is made up of Sheikah warriors." Once properly equipped, Link returned to Ganon's Castle. But this time, he didn't go alone. Sheik had insisted on being at his side as long as possible, helping him fight his way back to the top of the central tower. "Are you sure you want to face him alone?" Sheik asked. They were standing outside the massive door which led to the final chamber. The chamber where Zelda was held captive. The chamber where Link had first been.... Link nodded. "Yes. I'm sure." Sheik pulled down his mask, held Link in his arms and kissed him. He said, "Then, I'll be waiting for you, Hero of Time -- and for your victory." Sheik stepped back. Then, as he had so often before, he took a Deku Nut from the small pouch he kept with him, threw it to the ground and vanished in a flash of light. Now, Link was alone. Link took a deep breath and pushed open the chamber door. "Ganondorf!" he demanded, "Show yourself! I know you can hear me!" Moments later, Link's nemesis materialized before him, arms folded across his chest. "Welcome back," Ganondorf greeted Link with a smirk. "I'm going to kill you this time, Link -- and then, I'll fuck your corpse." He rose into the air with a shout and summoned a mass of lightning, which he threw in Link's direction. Link parried it with the Master Sword, sending it right back to its source, who reflected it back at Link with his cape. Back and forth the lighting flew until... finally... Ganondorf made his mistake. He attempted to block too late and was paralyzed by a swirl of white sparks. //This could be my only chance....// Link quickly took aim with his new bow, pulling back the wooden arrow he had set in its string. Then, with the ability Zelda had granted him when they met in the Temple of Time, he focused the Triforce of Courage's energy into that arrow. It became a weapon of pure, glowing light imbued with the Sages' power. That was when Link fired. The arrow seemed to fly in slow motion as Link waited for it to connect. Had he aimed too high? Too low? The only sound Link heard right then was the pounding of his own heart. Then, finally, the arrow struck Ganondorf's chest, engulfing him in golden light. The King of Evil fell to the ground with a strangled cry, landing on his hands and knees. Link rushed towards Ganondorf's downed figure and, taking the Master Sword in both hands, plunged the gleaming blade right through Ganondorf's armor. "AAUUUGGHHH!!" Ganondorf let out a terrible roar as the sacred blade slid through his flesh. Again and again, Link thrust the sword deep into Ganondorf's body, his handsome, boyish features contorted with a dangerous rage. He was possessed by bloodlust now. For the first time in his short existence, Link took pleasure in killing, in seeing another living being suffer and hearing his tortured cries. "Do you want me to stop?" he spat. "Do you want mercy? Why don't you beg me, then, just like I begged //you// while you were raping me!" Suddenly, Link's blood ran cold. As he stood over Ganondorf, prepared to make another strike, Link realized what he was doing. He lowered the Master Sword, took a step back and looked down at his blood-splattered clothes. Link had become, just for a moment, the monster he sought to destroy. But //only// for a moment. He wouldn't give Ganondorf that kind of victory. "This... isn't over...." Ganondorf rasped. He clutched his throat and vomited blood just before he collapsed at Link's feet. Princess Zelda, encased in pink crystal, settled gently to the ground. The crystal disappeared, and Zelda ran to the Hero of Time. "Link," she said softly, holding his hands, "I saw what he--" "I'm fine now," Link told her. "Let's get out of here." Suddenly, the room began to shake. The stained glass windows of the tower cracked and shattered, falling to the ground like pieces of a broken rainbow, and the white stone walls started to crumble. Link and Zelda glanced down and saw that the Triforce mark on the back of Ganondorf's hand was still glowing softly. With his last breath, Ganondorf was trying to bury them alive. "Follow me," Zelda said and ran towards the door. Link ran after her, dodging the falling rubble, until they came to a closed iron gate. Zelda raised her arms. The gate rose almost instantly, lifted by magical energy. Through several rooms, they ran as Zelda opened gates and Link fought off the monsters which tried to prevent their escape until, finally, they were outside of Ganon's Castle. They watched as the enormous structure collapsed on itself with billowing clouds of smoke and dust and sounds like the roll of distant thunder. Then... silence. All that remained was a pile of rubble. "It's over," Link said, mostly to himself. "All of it... it's finally over." Zelda twisted a strand of of her long, blond hair around her index finger. "Link... there's something I've been wanting to tell you. I've wanted to say this ever since you first came to Hyrule Castle when you were ten years old." "I... have to tell you something, too," Link responded, not quite able to look her in the eye. He knew what Zelda wished to say, which made his own revelation all the more difficult to deliver. Zelda smiled and said, "Alright. You go first." "Uh... well...." Link nervously straightened his tunic. //She isn't going to like this.// "I suppose the easiest way to begin is to say... I've fallen in love." Zelda let out a happy squeal. "Really?" "But there's more. You see--" There was a sound like movement from within the castle's ruins. Link and Zelda looked at each other, sharing the same fear. "I'll check it out." With the Master Sword in hand, Link cautiously made his way towards the largest pile. Ganondorf exploded from its center, teeth bared and eyes burning with hate as he rose above the young warrior like some demonic vision. So, //this// was what he had meant when he said this wasn't over. Ganondorf's threats echoed in the back of Link's mind: //I'm going to kill you this time, Link -- and then, I'll fuck your corpse.// //Not now,// Link told himself as panic threatened to steal his resolve. //I can't give up, I can't give in, not now. Not now!// "Link...!" Ganondorf growled. The Triforce mark on the back of his right hand shone like the sun. Flashes of golden light began to criss-cross the evil one's body, growing brighter and brighter, until Link had to shield his eyes. Then, Link looked again. He looked, and he stared in absolute horror. //No. It can't be....// It was said that, long ago, a powerful, hideous beast known as Ganon roamed Hyrule's countryside, destroying everything in his path. It was twenty times the size of a grown man with eyes of white flame, claws like iron stakes and a terrible roar that shook the heavens, so fearsome that from that time on, any great destructive force was referred to as a Ganon. This was what Ganondorf had become. In each hand, he held a giant three-pronged sword, and he sliced through the air with both. Link felt a sharp pain in his left wrist. He looked over his shoulder to see the Master Sword flying in a high, broad arc, landing near the Princess as walls of flame formed suddenly around the castle ruins. Link looked for something -- anything -- that he could use to attack the beast. He picked up a large wedge of stone and, tumbling out of the way as Ganon threatened to slice him in two, tried to think of a way to defend himself. The monster's hide seemed solid as thick steel... except for the purplish, fleshy section right at the end of his tail. Saying a prayer, Link ran behind Ganon and drove the stone wedge into Ganon's tail. He howled in pain, and the flames died down. "Link," Zelda shouted, "over here! The Master Sword!" Link ran to the spot as fast as he could and retrieved his blade. He felt the Triforce of Courage's power surge through him and touch the Master Sword. He knew what he had to do. Link continued to dodge Ganon's attacks, swift and agile as a cobra, striking at the creature's tail whenever he found the chance. Eventually Ganon, overcome by pain, fell to the ground -- injured, but still alive. A ray of light then bound him there, the source of it being Zelda's outstretched hands. "Quickly, Link! I can't hold him for long!" The Master Sword gave off a dazzling glow, finally showing its wielder's true power. Link brought the sword down on Ganon's neck, delivering the final blow. A splatter of blood. A thunderous roar. And finally, the beast was dead. But the Triforce of Power remained in his hand. Link watched as Zelda, the Seventh Sage, gave the command for the other six to combine their powers and send Ganon to the Evil Realm before he could be revived by the Triforce. A rainbow sphere surrounded Ganon and slowly dissolved in a glitter of golden light, taking Ganon with it. Once the sphere was gone, Link knew that this was truly the end. "Thank you, Link," Zelda said, "for everything you've done." They were somewhere in the Sacred Realm, though Link was unsure of how or when they had arrived here. Zelda sighed. "You've sacrificed so much, had so much stolen from you...." Link looked away and told her, "I'd rather not think about it. I can't change the past." Zelda replied happily, "But as a Sage... //I// can." "What?" "I can send you back to your original time. Your childhood. Your innocence. Those seven years you missed while your spirit was sealed in the Sacred Realm. All of it will be yours again; all you have to do is ask." //But if I take it back,// Link thought, //that means losing Sheik.// He told Zelda, "No," knowing what he had surrendered but positive he had gained much more. Zelda tilted her head slightly in confusion. Link took Zelda's hands and explained, "It's... what I wanted to tell you before. Please try to understand." He went on to tell the Princess of how Sheik had rescued him from Ganondorf's dungeon and taken him into his home. Protected him. Loved him. Comforted him. How much he loved Sheik, and that he wished to stay with him. Zelda's expression betrayed little of what she was thinking or feeling, and she said nothing as Link spoke. She just stood there, listening, until Link was through. "//This// is my time now," Link finished. "//This// is who I'm meant to be. And in spite of how it happened, I don't want to give it up." He waited anxiously for Zelda's reaction. To Link's amazement, Zelda smiled. It was an odd, sad little smile, but a smile just the same. * * * _Sheik._ Sheik waited for Link in the Temple of Time, certain he'd stop there after the battle to lay the Master Sword to rest. He could sense that Link had won; Sheik had always known he would. His only worry, really, was that seeing pretty Zelda again would make Link forget about him. That when Link spoke to him again, it would only be to tell him that they had shared their last kiss. //As long as he's happy,// Sheik told himself, //that's the only thing that matters. Even if it means losing him.// He leaned against the wall outside the Door of Time and looked heavenward, hoping for the best while preparing for the worst. A few minutes later, Sheik noticed a blue light eminating from within the Master Sword's chamber. He peered around the corner to find Link standing there, sliding the Master Sword back into its pedestal. His clothes were clean. His hair was neat. And when he looked in Sheik's direction, Sheik couldn't help but stare. He had never seen Link look so perfect, so much like a figure of legend, formed by the hands of the Goddesses from moonlight and Triforce gold. "Hey," Link said with a grin. Sheik's heart skipped a beat. "Link!" Sheik ran to him, but stopped just short of embracing him. "So, um, how did it go?" Link laughed. "I'm here, aren't I?" Sheik rolled his eyes. "You know that's not what I meant." "She offered to give me my childhood," Link said, serious now, "and those seven years I lost. It could have been like... that... never happened to me. But I told her I couldn't go back if it meant losing you. So, she agreed to send me here and said that if you made me happy, I belonged with you." Sheik paused, then asked, "You gave that up... for me?" Feeling a mixture of love and guilt. "Link, I--" Link shook his head and said, "If you're going to tell me I shouldn't have, don't. I love you too much to let you go." Sheik started to say something more. Something about how much he loved Link and how grateful he was that Zelda had been so understanding. Then, Sheik's words were lost to the touch of Link's soft lips against his. The End.
